The Magic of Winter in Venice

Dear Luxury Traveler,

Today we want to share with you the great advantages of visiting Venice in the winter! Aside from it being far less "packed" & less expensive than in the high season, it is also blessed with a certain romanticism that we believe is easily lost amongst the bustling days of summer.

In the colder months, when a majority of the tourists depart, the unhurried locals finally emerge, bundled in their fur coats, walking their dogs & reclaiming their mysterious streets, their piazzas and their favorite restaurants.

In the summer, lines to get into sights such as Palazzo Ducal or St. Mark's Basilica can resemble those of the most popular rides at an amusement park, while in the winter, you might get lucky enough to experience some ofVenice's most historical and renowned sites with only a few others. In the winter you can walk up to Caffè Florian, which has been serving coffee since the 18th century, and almost immediately get a charming seat by the window. You can take your time, enjoy your space and revel in the beauty of Venice and everything it has to offer.

It will be chilly but when the sky is clear, the city is blessed with unbelievable blue skies and when the fog joins you, it rolls over the island with unexplainable beauty, providing a sense of mystery & awe. You can finally sit back and enjoy the uncommon sight of Venice at ease.

We have some truly amazing apartments in Venice that would be perfect for your magical winter getaway. Take a look at a few of our favorites below!

Venezia Dodici -

3 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms (option for only 2 bedrooms)

Prices starting at $3,500 per week

Venezia Dodici cannot be too highly recommended – with its stylish yet homely ambience, its heavenly location (on the charming Giudecca island) and high level of comfort, it is a very special find indeed. Throughout the apartment, rich and vibrant colors have been used so no two rooms are the same and each of the bedrooms and bathrooms has a character all of its own.

On the ground floor is the enchanting deck. Here, guests will love sitting out with drinks or dinner and soaking in the atmosphere of this unique city on the water. Being on Giudecca Island is, for many, an added bonus with its tranquillity and charm so different from the business of Venice ‘proper’ (yet you are still only 10 minutes from St. Mark's). What could be better than a water taxi picking you up right from your deck and taking you for a trip to the Lido, Murano or for a lunch at Cipriani’s on Torcello island?

Dorsoduro District. Here you can find some of the most picturesque canals and Palazzi, beside art showcases in every corner, without the "hustle and bustle" that you might expect being so close to the city center.

It has been recently renovated using the latest techniques while respecting the building's original structure and has been beautifully furnished by Italian designers. Chic and minimalist, located on the second floor of a typical Venetian renaissance Palazzo and found in of the most beautiful parts of Dorsoduro district, Venezia Otto is an absolute gem.
